A garden for art made of glass
In the course of the conversion of the Hoeltingshof to the glass depot in Coesfeld-Lette, Kurt and Lilly Ernsting also had the garden re-laid. Old and new trees and manicured lawns - surrounded by rolling paths and selected flowers and shrubs - make the garden at the Hoeltungshof a feast for the eyes and a place to stay. Visitors like to settle down on the benches to enjoy the colorful flora and fauna.
The gardens became home to glass art more or less by coincidence. It all started with a visit to the Glas Galerie Leerdam, where we came upon the “Triple Yellow Flower” by the English artist Neil Wilkin. Once we had acquired that work, other glass art objects followed over the next few years, by Lothar Göbel, Xavier Carrere, Priska Jacobs, Wilfried Grootens, Paul Funcken, Karin Weijnand, Reiner Schlestein, André Kestel, Vladimir Rudolf and Heinz-Willy Horn. And the collection is surely far from complete …
