In 1996, Kurt and Lilly Ernsting formed a foundation for the promotion of art and culture in the Coesfeld region. They named it after the former manor of the village mayor in Coesfeld-Lette, known as the “Alter Hof Herding”. In order to pursue its goals, the foundation has created the Glass Museum, Alte Tenne, Glass Depot and konzert theater coesfeld (Coesfeld Concert Theatre) to provide forums for visual and performing artists and their works.
